Schools can be actively involved in a number of UNICEF events throughout the year to help raise awareness of global issues and funds to support UNICEF's work around the world. Find out how your school can be involved in UNICEF events this year.
How does our school remit funds to UNICEF Australia?
Schools can transfer funds to UNICEF Australia, either through cheque or directly depositing funds. Please be sure to include a letter with your cheque or send an email to unicef@unicef.org.au to provide UNICEF Australia with information on which appeal you would like funds directed towards.

How will the money students raise make a difference?
UNICEF is funded entirely through voluntary contributions and relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses, government, community organisations and schools to help donate funds to support our work for children.
The figures below will help give your students an idea of what their money can help UNICEF provide. Please not however, that these figures are a guide only and UNICEF cannot guarantee your donation will provide these specific items.

What UNICEF appeals can my students raise money for?
UNICEF Australia has a number of appeals open for schools to donate funds towards. For a full list of these appeals, please visit our appeals page.
How much of the money we raise will actually get to the field?
UNICEF’s approach is to use low-cost, highly effective solutions that work dramatically to improve children’s lives.
In 2009 for every dollar donated to UNICEF Australia:
68 cents was spent on UNICEF projects for children overseas.
7 cents was used to support children in Australia and educate the Australian public about the needs of children.
17 cents was used for Fundraising in Australia
8 cents was spent on UNICEF Australia Administration
