UNICEF works in over 150 countries and territories to promote and protect the rights of children. UNICEF works in five priority areas for children, as well as rapidly responding to emergencies and conflicts.

YOUNG CHILD SURVIVAL AND DEVELOPMENT

UNICEF works to eradicate preventable diseases among children, and to give them the best start to life.

BASIC EDUCATION AND GENDER EQUALITY

UNICEF works to provide a quality education to all children, with an emphasis on girls.

HIV/AIDS AND CHILDREN

UNICEF works to support children affected by HIV/AIDS, and to protect young people at risk of contracting the disease.

CHILD PROTECTION

UNICEF works to protect children who have suffered from or are at risk of violence, exploitation and abuse.

POLICY, ADVOCACY AND PARTNERSHIPS

UNICEF works with governments and various organisations to bring children's rights to the centre of public policy.
