You can help provide mosquito nets for children in Africa by supporting UNICEF’s Safe Dreams Appeal with a donation today.
The mosquitoes that carry malaria usually bite after nightfall – between dusk and dawn. So when a child has an insecticide treated bed net to sleep under, they are protected. However, only a fraction of the children who need these nets have them.
It doesn’t have to be this way. UNICEF and its partners are determined to provide a mosquito net for every child who needs one by 2010. We are already the world’s largest distributor of these nets and in 2008, we distributed close to 20 million of them.
We are already seeing a decline in malaria-related deaths as a result.
Everything UNICEF is able to do is thanks to people like you – without your donations we wouldn’t be able to save as many lives.
So if we are going to provide a mosquito net for every child who needs one, we need your help today. Malaria is an easily preventable disease. When we work together, we are confident we can achieve our goal.
A MOSQUITO NET CAN BE ALL IT TAKES:
- $140 can provide 14 nets
- $280 can provide 28 nets
- $500 can provide 50 nets
