Domestos pledges to destroy germs and protect children

It's World Handwashing Day and Domestos is supporting every child's right to decent sanitation and hygiene.

Every year, 1.7 million children don't live to celebrate their fifth birthday because of diarrhoea and pneumonia. But the simple act of handwashing with soap could cut these deaths by almost half.

This kind of sanitation and hygiene is the right of every child on the planet and today, on World Handwashing Day, UNICEF and Domestos are uniting behind a plan to make it happen.

World leaders recently adopted a historic set of 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development and now it's up to all of us to hold governments to account and deliver concrete actions for children. Goal 6 will ensure access to good sanitation and hygiene for all, including an end to open defecation and a special focus on women and girls.

For Domestos, the mission is clear: destroy germs and protect children.
“We believe every child should have clean, safe water and good health.”
