The crisis in Yemen is quickly becoming a catastrophe as the country struggles to overcome the pressures of rising coronavirus cases. Already dire conditions have worsened:
  • Over 2 million children are malnourished.
  • 1.7 million children have been forced to flee their homes.
  • A child dies every 10 minutes from a preventable disease.
After enduring five years of on-going conflict, no child should have to face such incredible odds to survive. Your support will provide urgent humanitarian aid to support conflict-affected countries, refugee camps and vulnerable communities across Australia, the Asia Pacific and 190 countries and territories across the world.

Please consider donating to support children like Hoda in urgent need.
As Australians adjust to the challenges the coronavirus outbreak presents at home, cases continue to rise worldwide. UNICEF is helping to tackle the impact of this new virus. We are here for children always and we won’t stop now. Children are at risk from the disease, but also from the disruption to health and education services, impacts on caregivers, and separation from family members.

"6,000 children could die every day in the next
six months as coronavirus weakens national
health systems and disrupts vital services."
In times like these UNICEF is there, sending supplies and support to the most vulnerable children and their communities. But we need your support to continue to be there for the most vulnerable.

As well as responding to the needs of Australian children and families, UNICEF is working to protect some of the most vulnerable communities - closer to home in the Asia-Pacific region and all over the world. We've been working closely with governments and the World Health Organisation (WHO) since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.

We were one of the first humanitarian agencies on the ground, delivering vital supplies when the outbreak began in Wuhan, China. In our neighbouring countries like Vanuatu, we are ensuring children have access to safe water and sanitation to prevent a catastrophic outbreak. And, we're supporting healthcare systems already on the brink of devastation in Syria and Yemen to prepare for this public health emergency.

We need your help to scale up our response to ensure we can continue to care for children and their communities no matter where they live.

Your emergency donation to UNICEF’s COVID-19 will help support:

  • Distribution of critical hygiene supplies & vital equipment to support health workers,
  • Public health prevention & risk communication so accurate advice is available to prevent the spread of the virus,
  • Child protection & mental health services,
  • Quality education for children in affected areas,
  • Provisioning of cash grants to households for basic needs,
  • Ongoing, essential healthcare for women & children, including vaccinations.

Together, let's unite against a disease that threatens to leave some of the world's most vulnerable children even further behind.

Your donation will go directly towards funding UNICEF's work to support children and families affected by Novel Coronavirus. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed UNICEF’s funding requirements for this appeal, your gift will go to supporting children in need in other emergencies.
