Triple your impact for children in Gaza
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our partner, Islamic Relief Australia, every dollar you give for children in Gaza and beyond will be tripled, up to a total partner gift of $500,000. That means $100 becomes $300 and $300 becomes $900, so your gift could have three times the impact.
Thanks to you: We’ve now reached our matched goal. Your generosity is making an extraordinary difference. Donations received now will continue to provide critical support to children and families facing catastrophic conditions in places like Gaza. Despite the fragile and complex situation, our teams remain in Gaza, doing everything possible to deliver lifesaving support to those who need it most. This includes providing clean water, medical care, family reunification, mental health support, immunisations, and other essential supplies like hygiene kits and winter clothing.
We need your help to continue reaching more children in need – no matter where they are.
Please Note: Until 21 December, donations were doubled. Thanks to your amazing response, our partner then took it further – for a limited time, every dollar you gave was tripled until the $500,000 partner gift was reached.
The ceasefire provides an opportunity to scale up our responses, but the situation remains dire and we need your support.
After two years of relentless bombardment, deprivation, and unimaginable loss, the situation in Gaza is catastrophic. Since the violence escalated in October 2023, nearly 20,000 children have been killed, with tens of thousands more injured, many with life-changing injuries.
Even with the ceasefire, the humanitarian crisis continues, and the needs of children are immense. Children are still dying of starvation as famine remains a deadly threat with severe malnutrition continuing to spread across the Gaza Strip. Many families continue to face severe hardship after multiple displacements, lack of access to healthcare services, and widespread destruction of homes and vital infrastructure.
The onset of winter is deepening Gaza's humanitarian crisis
With the onset of winter worsening an already dire situation for children and families in Gaza. More than 1.9 million people are displaced, many living in makeshift shelters that offer little protection from the bitter cold. As temperatures drop, urgent support is needed, including warm clothing, blankets, tarpaulins and tents, to help children survive the months ahead.
UNICEF is on the ground, scaling up our response to deliver nutrition, medicine, clean water, warm clothing, and shelter to those in need – but we urgently need your help to reach more children and families.
The world must not look away as children in Gaza struggle to survive. Please donate today to support UNICEF’s ongoing work during this critical moment.
Children of Gaza Crisis
The ceasefire brings a glimmer of hope for children in Gaza, but the needs remain urgent and overwhelming. Help us scale up our response.

How is UNICEF responding in Gaza?
Despite all the challenges, UNICEF remains in Gaza throughout this crisis – standing by children and families when they need us most. And we’ll stay, helping them recover and rebuild for as long as it takes.
UNICEF and our partners are providing immediate lifesaving support, including:
- Delivering essential items such as winter clothes, warm blankets, hygiene and sanitary items
- Providing tents and temporary learning spaces
- Screening and treating children for malnutrition
- Providing access to clean water
- Reuniting children with their families and providing mental health support
- Immunising children against preventable diseases
During the last ceasefire, our teams delivered lifesaving supplies, with UNICEF and our partners even delivering aid door-to-door, reaching malnourished children and pregnant women in their place of refuge.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our partner, Islamic Relief Australia, every dollar you give will be tripled up to a total partner gift of $500,000, for a limited time.

How will my donation help children in Gaza?
Even in the face of an escalating crisis, UNICEF continues to deliver for every child, no matter what.
- $100 could help provide water and sanitation equipment to support one family in Gaza, helping them stay safe and maintain dignity in the toughest conditions.
- $150 could provide one winter kit, including warm clothing (thermal sets, sweaters, jackets) and high-thermal blankets for children. This kit helps protect children from cold and damp, bringing comfort and hope when it’s needed most.
- $500 could help towards providing a tent for vulnerable large families with children, who have lost their homes, offering vital protection and a safer place to rebuild their lives.
- 80¢on average, 80 cents to every dollar spent for the past three years went directly to helping children in need, including long-term programs, emergency response and community education.
- 20¢on average, 14 cents to every dollar spent for the past three years went to essential fundraising costs that helped us generate more impact for children, 6 cents went to admin costs, such as keeping your personal data safe.
How do we use each dollar donated?

Is UNICEF helping children in Israel?
No matter where they live, a child is a child. UNICEF is calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and for the immediate, safe, and unconditional release of all abducted children, and the prevention and end to any grave violations against children, including killing and injuring children.
In high-income countries like Israel, governments generally have adequate capacity and resources to respond to emergencies. In these countries, UNICEF programs are not required unless requested by the Government, which Israel has not requested.
This UNICEF Australia appeal is specifically for children in Gaza where UNICEF has teams and programs.
Our work to protect and advocate for all children across Israel, Gaza and the West Bank will continue. Every single child, no matter who or where they are, must be protected.
