With the situation in Syria rapidly evolving, UNICEF calls for a sustained peace, as children in Syria have suffered enough.
Millions of children and families are facing extreme deprivation. More than a decade of war has caused massive damage to critical infrastructure, mass displacement, and severely limited access to essential services, including safe water, sanitation, health and nutrition, protection, and education.
UNICEF remains steadfast in its commitment to remain on the ground, working alongside our partners to deliver lifesaving assistance to children and their families. They deserve a future of peace, dignity, and opportunity.
Right now, more than 450 million children around the world – or nearly 1 in 5 – live in or have fled a conflict zone. Together, we can help every child in crisis survive and thrive.
From the devastating war in Gaza and the recent escalation of conflict in Lebanon, to ongoing emergencies in places like Sudan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, millions of children have lost access to food, clean water, shelter and healthcare, leaving them vulnerable to malnutrition, disease, and unsafe living conditions.
UNICEF is providing urgent support, and your generous end-of-year gift will help children and families rebuild their lives.
We can’t stop emergencies from happening, but we can ensure that more children survive and recover. With the help of people like you, UNICEF has helped save more children's lives than any other charity around the world – 90 million since 1990. Your donations allow us to be there for children before, during and after emergencies – from the critical first hours, when we deliver lifesaving supplies, including clean water, therapeutic food, and humanitarian cash assistance, to long-term recovery and rehabilitation. Together, we are there for every step, for every child. No matter what.
