Usman Khawaja Foundation Appeal

Around the world, children face immense challenges – from poverty and inequality to the devastating impacts of humanitarian emergencies like conflict and natural disasters. Across more than 190 countries, UNICEF works to support long-term programs that give children access to clean water, lifesaving nutrition and vaccines, education and protection.

While we can’t stop emergencies from happening, we can ensure more children survive and recover. That means being on the ground when disaster strikes, delivering lifesaving support, and staying for the long-term to help restore vital services and give every child the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated and safe.

Usman Khawaja Foundation and UNICEF Australia

In partnership with the Usman Khawaja Foundation, we’re raising funds to help millions of children access lifesaving vaccines, nutrition support, safe drinking water and basic sanitation, education and protection. By donating today, you’re helping UNICEF be there for every child, no matter what.

"When I gave birth, my baby weighed 4 kilos and was very healthy. Now she is more than a year old and weighs only 5 kilos. Mohammed, my other child, lost all his hair because of malnutrition. Both he and his sister are constantly sick, weak, and exhausted. I am also malnourished. We rely on the community kitchen, and when there is food, it is very little. Mostly one meal a day of rice or lentils and even then, I often give it to my children and go without so they can eat."

How will my donation help children?

By donating to support the most urgent needs of children you will also be allowing UNICEF to invest in long-term development programs that support the world’s most vulnerable children and their communities, meaning the difference between a life of poverty and one of opportunity.

About the Usman Khawaja Foundation

The purpose of the Usman Khawaja Foundation is to alleviate disadvantage experienced by youth through the provision of educational and cricketing opportunities.

Our mission is to develop well-rounded leaders and cricketers by increasing opportunities for participation in cricket, academic endeavour, social mobility and the development of networks for youth from disadvantaged communities, including new immigrants and refugees.

"As a father, I think about the immense challenges children are facing around the world, in places like Pakistan, Gaza and Sudan – challenges no child should ever have to endure. Protecting them and supporting organisations like UNICEF that deliver for children, is a responsibility we all share."
