To celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australasia in 2021 – Rotary aims to immunise 100,000 children across the Pacific.
Despite improvements across the Pacific, there remains much to be done to ensure all children receive routine immunisation and healthcare. As a result diseases such as pneumonia and diarrhoea remain the leading cause of child mortality across the region.
Rotary will help UNICEF introduce the following three new life saving vaccinations across nine Pacific Island Countries:
Rotavirus Vaccine to prevent a severe form of diarrhoea;
Pneumococcal Congugate (PCV) Vaccine to prevent pneumonia, blood infections (such as sepsis) and meningitis;
Human Papilloma virus (HPV) Vaccine to prevent some kinds of cervical cancer.
Your funds will support the procurement of vaccines, the cold chain supplies and other logistics, educate healthcare workers and communities and provide technical support and system strengthening.
