Support children in need every month

When you become a Global Parent, your monthly donation will be supporting vulnerable children no matter where they live, providing vital medicine, clean water, therapeutic food, and school supplies. We’ll keep you up to date with how your generous support is being put to work to make a huge difference to children everywhere.

Why is it better to become a Global Parent than to give a single donation?

When an emergency strikes, UNICEF can deliver life-saving help to children in just 48 hours to more than 190 countries.

But we can only do this because of our Global Parents. From right here in Australia, Global Parents help our teams reach vulnerable children, no matter what.

By starting a monthly gift, you’ll become a UNICEF Global Parent and help reach children with medical supplies, safe drinking water and life-saving therapeutic food as soon as an emergency hits. Become a Global Parent today.

Your monthly donation allows us to plan ahead and provide support to children in need more effectively.

  • Having extra supplies ready in areas where emergencies are likely to occur because of climate conditions or political instability
  • Knowing that we have the funds ready to invest in long-term solutions and make a lasting impact for children
  • Responding to children’s needs wherever it is most urgently required at the time

UNICEF is 100 per cent funded by the generous contributions of our donors. From war in Ukraine to malnutrition in Afghanistan, you can ensure that UNICEF is always there for children, acting quickly, whenever and wherever needed.

  • More effectively plan our upcoming work, knowing that we have the funds ready to invest in long-term solutions and make a lasting impact for children

UNICEF’s approach is to use low-cost, highly effective solutions that work dramatically to improve children’s lives. For every dollar donated by UNICEF Australia generous donors in 2021:

  • 82 cents went directly to program expenditure and community education, including long-term development and emergency response work.
  • 12 cents per dollar from funds raised by the public went to investing in further growing fundraising in Australia to benefit more children across the world. UNICEF Australia reinvests our supporters' generous donations to grow more funds, meaning that more funds are able to be remitted to the field to support our work with children.
  • 6 cents were spent on UNICEF Australia's accountability and administration. UNICEF Australia is in the lowest percentile of our peer organisations in terms of money spent on administrative costs.
