What is it?
UNICEF Australia offers a competitive internship program, giving interns a chance to work alongside some of Australia's best not-for-profit professionals, grow their skills and gain extensive experience with one of the world's leading international organisations.
Internships are available in the following departments:
- Advocacy Department
- Digital Media Department
- Media & Communications Department
- Philanthropy Department - special events (applications open now - closing 5pm June 7th 2013)

Who can apply?
UNICEF Australia's internship program is open to all qualified university or TAFE students and graduates.
What's involved?
Successful applicants will intern in our Advocacy, Digital Media or Communications & Social Media Departments for three months. The internships will be unpaid and require a minimum of two days per week in UNICEF Australia's office in Sydney, NSW.
Each internship role will vary depending on the skills of the intern and current projects being undertaken by UNICEF Australia. Applicants should be flexible and be prepared to work in areas in which they have had no previous experience or expertise.
PLEASE NOTE: The Special Events internship in the Philanthropy Department is a one-time position, running for 6 months. Find out more here.
When are the internships?
UNICEF Australia offer four intakes every year for each internship*.
2013/2014 Internship intake details:
Intake 1: 03 December 2012 to 27 February 2013, applications close Monday 22 October 2012
Intake 2: 4 March 2013 to 1 June 2013, applications close 25 January 2013.
Intake 3: 4 June 2013 to 30 August 2013, applications close 3 May 2013.
Intake 4: 2 October 2013 to 29 November 2013, applications close 2 August 2013.
UNICEF Australia regrets that we are unable to accept internships outside of these intake dates.
*PLEASE NOTE: The Special Events internship in the Philanthropy Department is a one-time position, which falls outside the regular intake dates.
