earthquake strikes Chile
UNICEF is working with the Government of Chile to assess the needs and lend support following an 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck early Saturday. All staff in UNICEF’s Country Office have been accounted for and continue to work to help vulnerable children, but at present there are no requests for additional outside assistance from UNICEF. As such, following consultation with the Chile Country Office, UNICEF will not be launching an emergency fundraising appeal.
