Chief Advocate for Children, Nicole Breeze

As the Chief Advocate for Children, Nicole has been instrumental in growing UNICEF Australia’s partnerships for impact and influence within Australia, growing support to children and young people particularly during crisis such as the drought, bushfires and COVID, and increasing our engagement with young Australians.

Nicole has significant experience in leadership roles in not-for-profit organisations in Australia and internationally. Over a decade with Oxfam, Nicole successfully established and grew Oxfam Australia’s global youth programs. As Executive Manager, she diversified her experience through leading major initiatives from the office of the Chief Executive across all aspects of the business in collaboration with key stakeholders including Government, partners, donors, and volunteers. Nicole Chaired Oxfam International’s program governance group for South Asia and was then recruited into an Oxford based strategy team where she was a key contributor to a major transformational change project, “Oxfam 2020”.  Early in her career, Nicole worked on the Africa program desk at Caritas Australia, and for the Edmund Rice Centre for Justice and Community Education. Nicole has completed two postgraduate degrees; a Masters of International Relations (University of Melbourne), and a Masters in Adult Education (University of Technology, Sydney). She lives in Sydney with her partner and their two children.
