Children are being buried before they have a chance to live

The unfolding situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic. Since the violence escalated in October 2023, tens of thousands have been killed and injured. During May 2025, in just two days alone, at least 45 children were reportedly killed – having to starve day after day, only to be victims of indiscriminate attacks.

For 11 weeks, lifesaving humanitarian aid was blocked from entering Gaza – a complete violation of international humanitarian law. During this time, hunger and malnutrition intensified sharply, reversing the clear humanitarian gains seen during the ceasefire earlier this year. Now, with only a trickle of humanitarian aid allowed in, including UNICEF's lifesaving supplies such as nutrition products for children, supplements and baby complementary food, children in Gaza continue to teeter on the brink of starvation.

UNICEF continues to call for a ceasefire, unimpeded access to humanitarian aid, and the release of all hostages. All parties must take action to unconditionally protect children from harm.

The world must not look away as children are fighting for survival. Please donate today to help UNICEF continue delivering services in malnutrition, healthcare, education and clean water.

Every second, we’re racing to reach children in emergencies with lifesaving care. We can only be there with your help.

From Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan, to Syria, Lebanon and beyond, children can’t wait for lifesaving support. With the help of people like you, UNICEF is there before, during, and after emergencies – delivering critical supplies and protection to children who need it most. But the scale of need is unprecedented, with more than 1 in 6 children – or 460 million – caught in brutal conflicts around the world.

UNICEF has helped save more lives than any other organisation around the world. But our work is far from over.

As global funding for humanitarian aid is slashed, millions more children are at extreme risk. Every second counts, every child matters. Please make a tax-deductible gift before 30 June.

"We found our home completely burned. Even my bicycle was lying in the rubble. I am heartbroken because I found nothing – none of my books, toys, clothes, or even my bed. Even finding water is a struggle."

In places like Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan, conflict is pushing families to the brink. Your support can make a difference.

Right now, a devastating number of emergencies are unfolding around the globe, pushing children and families to the brink as they fight for survival. When war breaks out and disaster strikes, children suffer first and most. They lose their homes, schools, and communities, as well as access to adequate food, clean water, shelter and healthcare, leaving them exposed to malnutrition, disease and unsafe living conditions.

9.6 million

Airstrikes and shelling have destroyed water systems and other vital infrastructure in Ukraine, leaving 9.6 million people, including 1.7 million children, without regular access to clean water.

5 million

The world’s largest child displacement crisis, 5 million children in Sudan have been forced to flee their homes – a staggering average of 10,000 girls and boys displaced every day.

71,000

The number of children under 5 years of age who are estimated to suffer from the most severe and life-threatening form of malnutrition in Gaza in 2025.

As a 100 per cent donor-funded charity, it is only with the generosity of people like you that we can continue to scale up our response for children and families in emergencies. Your tax-deductible gift ensures that we can reach every child in crisis with immediate and long-term support, no matter what.
