Director of People & Technology, Kara Collins

As UNICEF Australia’s Director of People & Technology, Kara provides leadership to help UA build and maintain a truly human organisation led by purpose-driven leaders.

Kara has over 20 years of experience as an HR leader and has worked across multiple sectors, from health to construction to early childhood education. A passionate advocate for early access to affordable, high quality early learning and the long-term impacts this has on our children led her to joining the UNICEF Australia team to fight for the universal rights of all children. 
 
Throughout her career Kara has driven significant organisational change both domestically and internationally, providing leadership and experience in the provision of strategic human resources advice, policy development and the creation of cultures that attract and retain a talented, diverse workforce. 
 
Known for the ability to drive innovative and sustainable strategies, through strong evidence-based data, Kara is looking forward to applying this to UA’s focus on building and maintaining a truly human organisation led by purpose driven leaders. Kara holds a Bachelor of Psychology and worked as a psychologist in a clinical capacity in her early career and remains a registered psychologist.
