David Beckham, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
David Beckham OBE was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2005. Since then, he has shown unwavering commitment to UNICEF’s mission. Throughout his time as a Goodwill Ambassador, David has travelled extensively to witness UNICEF’s work on the ground and has used his global platform to advocate for critical - and often underreported - issues including malnutrition, humanitarian emergencies, violence against children, and HIV/AIDS.
In 2015, to mark a decade with UNICEF, David launched the 7 Fund - a unique partnership dedicated to helping children around the world, especially girls, overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
In 2025, UNICEF Australia partnered with David Beckham to mark his 50th birthday and his 20-year anniversary as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. This collaboration aimed to raise funds for gender equality - helping young girls stay in school, access vital health programs that can change their lives, and give them opportunities they deserve.
"I created my fund with UNICEF because I want a world where children grow up safe – safe from violence, war, poverty, hunger and preventable disease. A world in which all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Together, we need to imagine a better future for every child and make sure that we achieve it."
