Liam Neeson, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Actor Liam Neeson became a UNICEF Ambassador in 1997. For over 20 years, he has supported UNICEF by raising awareness, visiting programmes in the field, and using his platform to advocate for children’s rights.
His first trip with UNICEF was in 2005, when he travelled to Mozambique to meet children whose lives had been affected by HIV and AIDS. In 2017, he visited Jordan, where he met children impacted by the Syrian crisis and witnessed firsthand the profound and lasting effects of conflict on young lives.
In 2023, Liam visited UNICEF’s Supply Division in Copenhagen, home to the world’s largest humanitarian warehouse, to shine a light on the immense logistics involved in delivering life-saving supplies to children during emergencies.
Last year, while in Australia, Liam released a powerful video message with UNICEF calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. In the video, he highlighted the urgent need to protect children caught in the crisis, highlighting the importance of safe access to life-saving supplies and services, and the critical need for sustained funding.
