UNICEF Australia is pleased to be named by the Telco Together Foundation as the first Australian charity to use the Premium SMS donation channel, as part of a pilot program with up to 15 charities launching text-to-donate campaigns over the next 12 months.

UNICEF Australia’s text-to-donate campaign launched today, with 100 per cent of each text from a donor contributing $5 to UNICEF’s worldwide programs for children.
“Every five dollars people donate through UNICEF can help make the difference between life and death for a child in a major emergency,” UNICEF Australia’s Director of Fundraising and Communications Michael Newsome said.
Mr Newsome acknowledged the work of the Fundraising Institute of Australia, telecommunication companies Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, and the Telco Together Foundation, for making it possible for Australians to give in what he described as an incredibly simple and immediate way.
