Help reach every child.
Make a life-long impact.

Disaster, war and poverty stop too many children
from surviving their first 1,000 days of life.
Your support can change the story for the world’s most disadvantaged children.

What happens in a child’s first 1,000 days can shape their entire life. To give every child the best possible start, UNICEF needs to be there as soon as an emergency strikes. We need to cross battle lines and climb mountains to reach children in the world’s most dangerous and remote communities. But we can’t do it alone.

UNICEF doesn’t receive any money from the UN. We rely on monthly donations from a passionate group of supporters called Global Parents. From right here in Australia, they help our teams reach vulnerable children in 190 countries.

Every month, Global Parents donate to bring children the essential supplies that save lives and shape futures: vaccinations, blankets and clean water. Sign up now and make your first donation.

We count on your monthly donation to be able to plan ahead and continue to provide support to children in need all around the world. When you pledge to donate monthly, you enable us to:
  • More effectively plan our upcoming work, knowing that we have the funds ready to invest in long-term solutions and make a lasting impact for children
  • Have extra supplies ready in areas where emergencies are likely to occur because of climate conditions or political instability
  • Respond to children’s needs wherever it is most urgently required at the time

How much of my donation is spent on UNICEF’s program work for children?

UNICEF’s approach is to use low-cost, highly effective solutions that work dramatically to improve children’s lives. For every dollar donated by the Australian public in 2018:
  • 63 cents went directly to program expenditure, including long-term development and emergency response work across both domestic and international programs and community education.
  • 29 cents per dollar from funds raised by the public went to investing in further growing fundraising in Australia to benefit more children across the world. UNICEF Australia reinvests our supporters' generous donations to grow more funds, meaning that more funds are able to be remitted to the field to support our work with children.
  • 8 cents was spent on UNICEF Australia's accountability, administration and reserves. UNICEF Australia is in the lowest percentile of our peer organisations in terms of money spent on administrative costs.
