Help reach every child
Become a Global Parent

Right now children's futures are at risk, as the impacts of COVID-19 could see an additional 6,000 children die every day over the next six months due to weakened health systems and disruption of services.

UNICEF's life-saving work for children will be more critical than ever, filling the gaps of desperately needed vaccines, nutrition and education supplies worldwide.

But we can't do it alone! By becoming a Global Parent, and starting to donate every month, you can help shape a better future for a child.

You will help:

  • Maintain extra supplies in emergency prone areas
  • Facilitate long-term programmes for children in the 190 countries UNICEF works
  • Deliver vaccines, life-saving food or school supplies for children where needed most

With the support of our Global Parents, UNICEF sent 13 trucks of winter clothes, as soon as the 500,000 children fled the violence in Idlib (Syria). Children like Fatima were protected from the harsh winter conditions in the refugee camps.

What impact could my monthly donation make?

In 2019, Global Parents helped UNICEF deliver life-saving supplies to the world's most vulnerable children.

a passionate community of Global Parents
29 million children vaccinated against measles
Tickets to exclusive events and webinars
32 million people accessed safe water
4 million children accessed schooling
2.1 million children treated for severe acute malnutrition
We still need more Global Parents to help deliver UNICEF boxes of life-saving supplies. $30 a month could deliver enough vaccines to immunise 100 children against preventable diseases.

Every delivery is much more than supplies. It is a box of opportunity - a future for a child.

We count on your monthly donation to be able to plan ahead and continue to provide support to children in need all around the world. When you pledge to donate monthly, you enable us to:

  • Have extra supplies ready in areas where emergencies are likely to occur because of climate conditions or political instability
  • Respond to children’s needs wherever it is most urgently required at the time

How much of my donation is spent on UNICEF’s program work for children?

UNICEF’s approach is to use low-cost, highly effective solutions that work dramatically to improve children’s lives. For every dollar donated by the Australian public in 2018:
  • 63 cents went directly to program expenditure, including long-term development and emergency response work across both domestic and international programs and community education.
  • 29 cents per dollar from funds raised by the public went to investing in further growing fundraising in Australia to benefit more children across the world. UNICEF Australia reinvests our supporters' generous donations to grow more funds, meaning that more funds are able to be remitted to the field to support our work with children.
  • 8 cents was spent on UNICEF Australia's accountability, administration and reserves. UNICEF Australia is in the lowest percentile of our peer organisations in terms of money spent on administrative costs.
